Warranties / Guarantees
Midwest Solar Solutions provides warranties and guarantees to ensure our customers in the Metro East and surrounding communities have peace of mind when investing in one of our solar photovoltaic systems.
First, our 15-year workmanship warranty means you won’t incur a charge if your system has a hiccup. A member of our service team will visit your home and resolve the problem — free of charge — to get your panels producing at the proper clip again. Some common services that may need fulfillment include:
- Reconnecting a monitoring device
- Damaged/malfunctioning wires
- Inverter troubleshooting
- Inverter replacement/warranty management
Additionally, Midwest Solar provides a 15-year production guarantee that occurs on an annual basis. We guarantee your solar array will produce at a clip of 85 percent or greater to what’s estimated on your signed agreement. If your system underperforms, we’ll pay the difference.
This 15-year guarantee hits home with our customers. We’re putting our money on the line that your solar array will perform as outlined every year. We have confidence in our work, and we stand by our word.
Warranties on Midwest Solar’s Preferred Products
Equipment warranties vary depending on which product you ultimately select for your property. For a more in-depth look at Midwest’s recommended line of products, click here. Typically, the industry standard for solar photovoltaic panels is a 25-year warranty.
Inverters convert electricity produced by the solar panels from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) for use in your home. They range in warranty length depending on brand. Our most popular microinverter selection — produced by Enphase Energy — carries a 25-year warranty. That’s the longest warranty of any company’s products we work with and why we like to recommend them as a strong option.
While microinverters attach to the backside of each panel, string inverters are installed on your home near your main service panel or electric meter. Often paired with DC power optimizers, string inverters typically carry a warranty of 10 years. They are best for very simple, straightforward installs.
Serving You Now and for the Future
When we notice your system isn’t producing at the level it should — or if you notice that yourself via the monitoring app included with Midwest Solar’s installations — our dedicated service team will come out to resolve the problem. Our service department regularly monitors your solar array’s output to verify everything is working properly.
By investing in a team solely focused on service, we hope that demonstrates Midwest Solar is in this industry for the long haul and not to make a quick buck — and quicker exit. We care about our customers years after our money is made during the installation phase. If and when state and federal incentives dry up down the line, we’ll still be working to better our local communities with personal, professional solar service.
Unfortunately we’ve seen firsthand solar companies have to close up shop or are no longer able to service homeowners’ existing systems. Some businesses no longer service the state of Illinois. In any of these circumstances, reach out to see if Midwest Solar can help. While our customers are our top priority, we don’t want the solar industry’s reputation to incur damage. We’ll do our best to help resolve your problem.
To that end, it’s important to select a trusted local company that is committed to the solar industry long-term. Our president, Joe Bowler, and operations manager, Jim Lloyd, have deep roots in Illinois and want to help the Metro East flourish. Many of our staff members have ties to southern and Illinois. We live here, raise families here, have friends here and support other businesses here. We’re committed to bettering our communities and providing the Metro East a more sustainable future.
